An official artist to support the Fender Mustang Bass

The Fender Mustang Bass has its hero: Justin Meldal Johnsen. His name may be unknown for most of us, but this guy is actually the bass player you can hear on so many albums since the mid-90s : Beck, Air, Tori Amos, Nine Inch Nails, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Moby, Garbage, The Black Eyed Peas, P!nk just to name a few. The Fender Mustang bass is iconic of the alternative scene, and Meldal Johnsen is a really interesting support to promote an alternate bass model!

So what about the "JMJ" signature model? In a way it's a very conservative model, no variation from the standard one, the pickup is a classic one, the neck, the color, the body, even the thumbrest and the bridge are so in line with the original 1967 model owned by Meldal Johnsen.

So what's different? The bass had a wornout treatment, like a good ol' pair of jeans, made in Mexico, the pickup is a Seymour Duncan produced for this model only. To be honest, is a a reissue with a lot of appeal, for bass players looking for authenticity as well as simplicity. Probably the purest tribute to the Mustang line in years.
